A trip abroad

Instead of choosing an article to respond to I am writing about my experience traveling in Europe and the different accommodations I chose.

Barcelona

The first stop on our trip was to Barcelona, Spain. My sister and I departed for Barcelona from JFK airport in New York City. We stayed in a hotel called the H10 Casa Mimosa. We ended up finding out about this hotel on trip advisor, where it was rated number 1. As you may have guessed my sister and I are college students on a budget so we were thrilled to find accommodations for 150$ a night at one of Barcelona's top hotels. This rate was only available for a few hours so we chose to grab it right away. The property is relatively small with one restaurant on the ground level and a small bar on a rooftop. One of the great features of the property was it had two pools, one in the hotel courtyard and one on the roof. The room was modern and had all upgraded appliances and features. Having a concierge at our disposal was a huge plus with staying in a hotel, both of us have never been to the city and we got great recommendations on things to do, places to eat, and transportation.

Munich

Our second stop on our adventure was to Munich, Germany. In Munich we stayed in a Youth Hotel. The youth hostel was the top rated hostel for the area and we could see why. It was our first experience staying in a hostel which both made us a little hesitant upon arrival, but we both wanted to fully embrace the experience. Our room was private with two double beds, kind of reminded me of my room in East Halls but a little more upgrades. There was a sink and a mirror in the room and you had to share a bathroom with the rest of the people on your floor. Perhaps our favorite part about the hostel was the bar that was located on the lobby level. The bar was active all times of the day and was a great hangout for fellow travelers and locals. The hostel experience really allowed us to get out of our comfort zone and allowed us to meet so many people.

Paris

In Paris we stayed at an Air BNB which was a 10 minute walk to the Eiffel tower. We liked it because it included a small kitchen and by this leg of the trip we were looking to save some money, so cooking our own meals really came at quite an advantage to us. One of the drawbacks was the neighbors and not having any guides to help us. With the hostel and hotel we had people at our disposal to help us in guiding our way through a city we have never been to in Pairs we had to rely on the internet and friends who have been to the city before. One of the largest positives of the Air bnb option was the location. Hotels in our area were very pricey and we were only paying $105 a night for our cozy studio apartment, so we got the great location without the heavy price tag.
